As an alternative to taking the
train between Budapest and Vienna in either direction, Rhapsody
Tours offers the unique experience of sailing on the Danube onboard
a fleet of Russian built hydrofoils.

The 280 km journey lasts about 5
1/2 hours, in either direction. The type of hydrofoil craft
used will depend on the daily demand, so you may find yourself on
either a 44, 62 or 104 passenger hydrofoil. The largest ship
has 3 passenger compartments. The cruise passes by the beautiful
scenery along the Danube including villages, castles, and the soon
to be UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Danube Bend. As well,
the cruise passes through two lock systems, one between Budapest and
Bratislava and the other just west of the City of Bratislava on the
way to Vienna.
It is possible to disembark at
Bratislava and continue the journey at a later date, as long as
arrangements are made for drop-off and pick-up at the time of
booking. Should you require accommodation while in Bratislava
on a stop-over,
send us an e-mail.
