Day 1:

Arrive in Budapest and transfer from the airport to your hotel with your tour bus. This evening, after resting for a while, we have a welcome dinner planned, including a folklore show and wine. Welcome to Budapest!                     

Day 2:

This morning we take you on a city tour of Budapest, focusing on the Pest side with a tour of the Parliament Building after a look around downtown. For lunch, we go to the Promontorvin wine cellars.  This afternoon you have free time to browse around, do some shopping or just enjoy a stroll along the Danube.  This evening you’ll enjoy a beautiful dinner cruise on the Danube, with more folklore entertainment as you marvel at the passing scenery along the Danube through Budapest, a stretch that UNESCO has wisely listed as a unique world heritage site.

Day 3:

Having seen the Pest side yesterday, this morning we explore the historic Buda with our guide. You’ll visit the Castle area, Fisherman’s Bastion, the Roman ruins, the amazing St. Matthias cathedral and the quant preserved scenery through old Buda, where visitors delight in traveling the cobblestone streets with horse and buggy.  The rest of the day is yours to do with as you please (dinner is on your own tonight)

Day 4:

Today we check out of the hotel, and put our luggage on the bus. Then, we set out by river boat from the boat terminal in Budapest to the Danube Bend.  We’ll be visiting the three famous artistic and historic towns of Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom, with an opportunity to see artists at work, visit the oldest cathedral in Hungary, and tour a Hungarian castle. Transportation between the towns will be with our bus. After a full morning of exploring, followed by lunch, we board the bus again and head for Vienna.  We arrive in Vienna and check into the hotel for 2 nights.

Day 5:

You’ll be treated to a four hour city sightseeing tour today, as your introduction to the City of Music.  You’ll marvel at this Baroque city that was once the capital of an Empire for many centuries. Included in the tour is a visit to the Schonbrunn Palace, the Opera House, Belvedere Gardens, and the Hofburg quarter in the old city center. Tonight, you’ll have seats for a Mozart and Strauss concert at the Palace.

Day 6:

This morning there will be a special guided tour to the newly opened Kunsthistorisches Museum. The rest of the day is free time, but rest up for the Heurigen dinner in Grinzing tonight. The dinner will feature traditional entertainment and wine is the nearby wine village of Grinzing on the edge of the Vienna Woods.

Day 7:

We leave with memories of Vienna and head west toward Salzburg, for one night only.  After a few hours of travel, we check into our Salzburg hotel and then go on a special sightseeing tour of this lovely city. The highlights today will be a visit to the Mirabell Gardena and a walking tour through old town including Mozart Square.  Tonight you'll be treated to a Mozart dinner concert. There never seems to be enough time to fully enjoy Salzburg and the alpine region around the city, so make a note to yourself to come back some day.

Day 8:

Leaving Salzburg this morning, after breakfast and checkout, we head into the Czech Republic, stopping first at the town of Cesky Budejovice, dating back to medieval times. It has one of the best and most beautifully preserved medieval old town squares in Europe.  We’ll have a short look around, followed by lunch and then proceed on to the capital city of the Czech Republic.  On our way to Prague, we’ll stop for a visit at the Hluboka Castle (the “White Castle”), probably the best of the Czech Castles that are dotted throughout the countryside. On arrival in Prague, and after check in, you’ll be treated to a wonderful welcome dinner with folklore show. It’s an unforgettable experience hearing the music and songs of many generations ago still played on the original instruments!

Day 9:

The first full day in Prague starts with a guided city sightseeing tour. You’ll see, hear and feel the “Royal Route”, the Castle and Palace district, the Cathedral and St.Vitus, the St. Charles Bridge, the historic Old town square with the famous astronomical clock, and many other sights that have endeared Prague to many visitors from around the world.  You won’t believe you’re actually there!  The rest of the day is free time but this evening we’ll be treated to a performance in the Opera House (depending on what’s playing).

Day 10:

This morning, we’ll set out on an in-depth walking tour exploring Prague history, with a unique insight into the recently past turbulent lives of and times of the Czech people. The rest of the day is free.  You may want to try the short narrated cruise on the Vltava River through Prague.

Day 11: 
(B)

For our last day in the Czech Republic, a trip to one of their most Famous glass factories is a fitting end.  The Czechs are famous around the world for their lead crystal.  Today you have an opportunity to see it in the making and to visit the factory shop. The prices are fabulous. Following the factory tour, we visit the Plzen brewery.  Today, we’ll have seen two of the things that the Czechs are most famous for…glass and beer!   Your on your own this evening.

Day 12:
(B) 

 After checking out of the hotel, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight home, with wonderful memories of Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg and Prague, and the people you’ve met along the way.
