Budapest Spring Festival - 2008

Day 1:
Arrive in Budapest; transfer from airport to
hotel; lunch or dinner at hotel. This
evening you'll attend the first of three Spring Festival performances.
Day 2:
After breakfast at the hotel, it's time to leave
for the "Behind the Scenes tour of
the Budapest Opera House and then a visit to the Bartók
Memorial House this
morning, and enjoy a piano concert and champagne. Lunch will be a 3 course
meal with coffee at the "Szeged" Restaurant. This afternoon is free time.
This
evening you'll attend your second performance at the Spring Festival.
Day 3:
After breakfast this morning we depart by
motorcoach, with our guide, for
the Danube Bend area north of Budapest. Here, we stop for a visit to the
artistic and historic towns of Esztergom, Visegrad and Szentendre. Lunch
will
be a 3 course meal with aperitif, wine and coffee in Visegrad at the
"Renaissance" Restaurant. Our four course dinner tonight will include a
folklore show at the Borkatakomba restaurant.
Day 4:
This morning we will be visiting the stunning
National Gallery, followed by a 30
minute stirring concert recital in the Matthias Cathedral on the Buda side.
There will be some more free time today and then your third Festival
performance this evening.
Day 5:
Free day in Budapest all day, with lots of time to
enjoy the sights, stroll along
the Danube, visit the great Market Hall, enjoy the café
culture, shop, or just
take in the ambiance along Andrassy Boulevard. Both sides of Budapest
along the mighty Danube River as well as Andrassy Boulevard are designated
as a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site. This evening you'll enjoy a
farewell dinner at the Mágnáskert
Restaurant. As well as enjoying a four
course gala meal you'll also partake in some wine tasting, sampling the
superb and highly rated wines of Hungary.
Day 6:
After breakfast and check out at the hotel this
morning, you'll be transferred to
the airport for your flight home.
